A big thank you to Michelle and Steven at Connect for organising a great evening. Everyone had fun and our footie lads were very happy with their awards.

They now have a smart new kit and definitely look the part. So well done The Red Stars and keep up the good work!

Changes to our Big Day Out on 1st May 2011 (it is now on the 24th April):
Unfortunately as you are all probably already aware the Liverpool Boat Show has been cancelled by Marine Industry Events due to the cut backs that seem to be affecting so many aspects of our lives. Therefore we have had to reorganise this particular Big Day Out and have changed the date to the week before on the 24th April. We thought we would stay with the nautical theme and visit the lovely City of Chester. We will be taking a cruise up the River Dee where whether permitting a scrumptious picnic will be provided on the banks. (If the weather is not so good we will visit one of the many restaurants in Chester for a nice hot meal.) This will be followed by a leisurely walk along the wall and a look around Chester. I'm sure you will have a lovely day and we may even learn a little about the history of this Roman City.
There will be a surcharge for this activity of 12 pounds to be paid on the day.
If you would like to join in with this activity then please ring to confirm your place.

Our Stay Over in Blackpool
Sunshine, a lovely hotel, tasty food, good company and lots of good fun. That pretty much sums up our great weekend in Blackpool.
Everyone was in great spirits when we set off on Saturday morning for Blackpool. We found the hotel easily and were very pleased to see that it was perfect for our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a great start to our break. After organising our rooms and putting our cases in we went for a walk around Blackpool.
As we were all getting hungry we had lunch at a lovely cafe and everyone ate well and was having a good laugh.
After lunch we went to the pier and sampled some hot doughnuts (some even had fruit/chocolate kebabs-yummy). Playing on the 'hook a duck' one of us even won a gorgeous pink bunny rabbit-just in time for Easter!
After returning to the hotel and having a cuppa (some deciding to have a refreshing beer) we all decided to sit and have a gab before getting ready for the evening ahead of us.
We all got our glad rags on and looked really smart and went to the karaoke bar. On the way we picked up our supper. We spent a couple of hours at the bar dancing and singing- what a group of party people ! !
We left the karaoke bar quite early as it was getting quite rowdy and we went back to the hotel. We then partied into the early hours and had a fantastic time.
In the morning we rose to the sunshine and got up to a full English breakfast which was lovely and then packed our stuff up.
After getting ready and putting our bags in the cars we went shopping for gifts for family and had lunch. We walked by the seafront in the sunshine and then had a drink in a local bar where everyone enjoyed themselves.
It was time then to return to the cars and travel home after a very successful weekend. Everyone was really tired but happy that the weekend had been such fun and great friendships had been made.
Stuart has kindly given this quote and permission to print it:
“I really enjoyed the weekend thanks to the staff. We had a great laugh which is what we went for. Everybody got on really well. I ate well and enjoyed being with my friends. Everybody was happy and I was happy. Can't wait 'til we go again with Active Choices”
